The wonderful Hull .

Although born and bred in Yorkshire, I spent my first 29 years living in Rotherham. Married to my husband since 2009, we lived in Barnsley for 8 years, and then decided to move to Hull in 2017 to make it our forever home. We moved for his work and to connect with some like-minded people who have championed and encouraged us.

Hull is a city in the farthest eastern tip of Yorkshire, formerly the city of culture in 2017, Hull has had some incredible revamps and has some amazing things to see if you spend the time to look hard enough.

One of my favourite things to do is to walk around the old town, see the amazing architecture and feeling the history of the old sailors who lived in the small hideouts right on the edge of the mariner.

Street Art.

Did you know that Hull is reknowned for its wonderful street art? It’s amazing to drive around certain areas of Hull and see incredible, unique and vibrant art work in the graffiti style. One of my children’s favourites is Sponger Bob & Patrick. I love how bright they are, how they have taken run down, heavy industrial, sometimes derelect places, and turned them into art, right in the middle of hidden streets, back alleys, side roads and sides of big old buildings. Just wonderful to see. Genuine artists expressing themselves all over the city. Love it.
